Skin cancer doctor on the Sunshine Coast

Dr Leneham practices exclusively as a skin cancer clinician, focusing on skin cancer detection and removal. He has diagnosed and treated thousands of skin cancers here on the Sunshine Coast. His patients benefit from his wealth of experience and expertise. He cares deeply about getting the best possible result for his patients, and will advise of the best treatment in each individual patient’s case, which can include surgical or non-surgical management.

Dr Leneham graduated Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Queensland in 2014. After spending two years at Ipswich Hospital, he worked as a rural General Practitioner in Blackbutt, Millmerran, Warwick and Toowoomba. During this time he gained fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Leneham has since gained further qualifications in skin cancer. He holds a Master of Medicine degree in the field of Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland. He has also completed various programs with Skin Cancer College Australasia and is a current accredited member of the organisation. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Graduate Diploma in Education. He has worked publicly in the dermatology department at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, seeing general dermatology patients, and running a skin cancer clinic for patients referred by their GPs.

Dr Leneham is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland in the Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) program. He currently consults and operates in private clinics on the Sunshine Coast (locations shown below).

In his spare time he enjoys training for and competing in triathlons, gardening and computer programming. He has two dogs who keep him busy at home.

Skin checks
Dr Leneham is highly trained and experienced in the use of dermatoscopy to detect and diagnose skin cancers. He aims to find them early to minimise their potential impact on his patients.
Skin biopsies
Shave biopsies, punch biopsies, incisional biopsies and excisional biopsies can all performed by Dr Leneham when histological assessment by a pathologist is required.
Skin excisions
Dr Leneham has performed surgical removal of thousands of skin cancers and always strives for excellent cosmetic outcomes for his patients.
Complex repairs
Sometimes, due to body location or large size of a lesion, a complex procedure is required to close the defect. Dr Leneham is experienced in the use of skin flaps, split skin grafts and full thickness skin grafts. However, he will always choose a simpler procedure if possible, to ensure the best outcomes for his patients.
